Brodifacoum 0.005% Rodenticides Mouse / Rats Effectively Killer
Brodifacoum is a highly lethal 4-hydroxycoumarin vitamin K
antagonist anticoagulant poison. In
recent years, it has become one of the world's most widely used
pesticides. It is typically used a
s a rodenticide but is also used to control larger mammalian pests
such as possum
Product name: Brodifacoum 0.005%Pellet WAX
Pesticide category: Rodenticide
CAS NO.: [56073-10-0] formerly [66052-95-7]
Appearance (TC): White powder
Appearance (0.005%Pellet): red pellet
Controls most rodent pests, including Rattus norvegicus, R. rattus,
Mus musculus and M. dome
sticus, at lower rates than many other anticoagulants (e.g.
warfarin and pindone); also Cricetus
cricetus, Mesocricetus auratus, Microtus pennsylvanicus, M.
pinetorum, R. argentiventer, R. rat
tus mindanensis and rodents, such as hamsters, that are difficult
to control with other anticoagu
lants. Potency is such that a rodent may absorb a lethal dose by
taking a 50 mg/ kg bait as part
of its food intake on only one occasion. For a review, see A. P.
Buckle & R. H. Smith, "Rodent P
ests and their Control", CABI (1994).
